Dataset

格式: pool/path[@snapshot]

* 可以 set permission

Volumes:

* volumes currently are really only useful for iSCSI(block device).
* If you aren't doing SCSI then it is better to just use a Dataset(ZFS-folder).

使用 Step:

1) Format drives to ZFS
2) Create the vdev
3) Create the zpool
4) Create two datasets

Memory

在只行 smb, ftp, zfs(700GB) 的情況下, 即使 2GB ram 而沒有 swap 都是不夠

它會引致死亡

Targets = Extent + Auth Group + Initiator Group + Portal Group

Extent vs Target

At the highest level, a target is what is presented to the initiator, and is made up of one or more extents.

* 現在一個 target 只支援 4 個 LUN (2013-10)

Extent ( 用來做 LUN )

type: file, device, zfs volume

Auth Group

由 CHAP Users 組成 (Target side (client login 到 server), Initiator side(server login 到 client))

* 現在一個 Tag 只支援 4 個 User (2013-10)

Initiator Group

Networks (192.168.88.0/24)

Portal Group

Server 上的一組 IP 與 Port 用來提供 Service
