功能: AVR Boost

 

Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)

  • UPS - AVR Boost Enabled: The UPS is compensating for a low utility voltage.
  • UPS - AVR Trim Enabled: The UPS is compensating for a high utility voltage.

* Both the AVR Boost and AVR Trim are advisory. No user action is required.

Automatically steps up low voltage and steps down high voltage to levels that are suitable for your equipment.

Gives higher application availability by correcting low and high voltage conditions without using the battery

Sound

* The Smart-UPS will make a clicking sound when the UPS is enabling AVR Boost or AVR Trim.

LED

* The Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) Trim LED comes on, indicating the UPS is compensating for a high voltage level.

* The AVR Boost LED comes on indicating the UPS is compensating for a low voltage condition.

Green mode incorporates relays that bypass double conversion operations during normal steady state operation.

This bypass is feeding power directly from the utility feed enabling higher efficiencies greater that 97%.

Not only does this save on power utility costs but also on the cooling required in tight spaces as the unit emits less heat losses.

The lower heat also leads to longer life of key components such as batteries.  

If the quality of the power drops outside of configurable ranges, the UPS will immediately switch into On-Line mode. 

The switchover can take up to 10 ms.

Note that

the load is susceptible to surges during the switchover period. 

Customers must decide is the risk to their application is worth the 4% efficiency gain.

Most Common Power Quality Problems

 

Voltage sag (or dip)

Description: A decrease of the normal voltage level

Causes: Connection of heavy loads and start-up of large motors.

Voltage fluctuation

Description: Oscillation of voltage value, amplitude

similar to the effects of an undervoltage.
