StackOps Distro is based on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS x86_64.

Single Node:

You can't add any more nodes.

Dual Node:

parameters previously entered when configuring the controller node, lowering the chances of configuration mistakes.

Configure disks partitions:

By default all the servers except Volume Node can work with a single partition. So you can accept all the default parameters provided by the installer.

Sanity Check

You can now check if the StackOps Agent is running if you display the content of the

/var/log/nova/installer_agent.py.log

status stackops

Smart Installer "web application" processes the information sent from the Stackops-Agent.

(Stackops Agent will retrieve all the information about the hardware and software )

Hostname: By default the hostname is 'openstack-node'
DNSx: By default we use the Google DNS.

Component

Start a component

start nova-COMPONENT_NAME        <---- upstart init scripts

COMPONENT_NAME can be any of the following Nova processes:

  • ajax-console-proxy
  • api
  • compute
  • network
  • objectstore
  • scheduler
  • volume

By default the system is installed in 'verbose' mode.
